Access (difficult): Cross the glaciers at the "Jonction" Beware of rockfall and use shelters. Mountaineering equipment (ice axe, rope, and crampons) necessary. (3-5 hrs) In summer, spending the night at an altitude over 3000 metres in this grand setting and in the warmth of the hut will allow to to regain your strength on your "way down" from Mont Blanc. An unforgettable sunset will "top off" your experience.

Even just visiting the hut entails a superb glacier hike and altitude training in majestic surroundings. An ice wall near the hut offers an area for climbing practice and the "Pointe Durier" is another nearby climb.
