The "Royal Route" to Mont Blanc for mountaineering skiers in springtime, with access to the hut in a fairy tale environment from the "Jonction" through the mazes of ice falls... and in summer, a welcome stop on the way down from the summit.

Access (difficult): Cross the glaciers at the "Jonction" Beware of rockfall and use shelters.
Mountaineering equipment (ice axe, rope, and crampons) necessary. (3-5 hrs)

In summer, spending the night at an altitude over 3000 metres in this grand setting and in the warmth of the hut will allow to to regain your strength on your "way down" from Mont Blanc. An unforgettable sunset will "top off" your experience.

Direct itinerary by the north ridge of the "Aiguille du Gouter" . Very steep but less exposed than the route under the ice falls.

For experienced mountaineers, an ascent by this exceptional route will recall the classics of yesteryear.

For experienced mountaineers, an ascent by this exceptional route will recall the classics of yesteryear.

Even just visiting the hut entails a superb glacier hike and altitude training in majestic surroundings.

An ice wall near the hut offers an area for climbing practice and the "Pointe Durier" is another nearby climb.
